Here we are talking about armors, cultures, drinks, customs, weapons, raw
materials, plants, etc. Do not talk about maps or specific places here, we
will be creating that from scratch.
Zadmar reminded me of Talislanta, one of a few "worlds" I have looked at and
been impressed with previously. I particularly remember Talislanta for a funny
"no elves" slogan. Anyway, there exists these well defined non-Tolkien worlds
which I find to be shining examples of color we should hope to achieve.
We should start coming up with these ideas, or investigate options to do so.
Some things to talk about here :
1. Using or borrowing from existing world which ALLOWS us to ( Copyrights, etc. )
2. Creating our own world
3. Vibrant worlds to serve as inspiration and example

Talislanta, I love it..
The following URLs should be thought of as paintings. Look at the colors
and the techniques, see the brush strokes, imagine the creation process.
These are posted here as examples of something to strive for, little else.

Very specific history might be a good place to look for inspiration and ideas,
or variously-veiled conversions of vibrant world culture, people and objects.
In particular, I think I am going to try to have a look through some old
weapons and armor manuals I remember thinking would be great source
material for the creation of a game.

These are for specific societies, not for the entire world, obviously:
*Letters are begun with the senders name
*One-fingered salutes. (And you know which finger ;-P )
*Perhaps no alcoholic drinks?
